When you are out and about looking for a new used car, there are some specific things that you will want to make sure you pay attention to so you can spot potential problems before you decide to buy the car. Here are 3 things to look out for when you are looking at a car as a potential one for you to purchase:

1: Look for any squealing sounds

Let your young, new driver know that there are many reasons why a car may suddenly start making a new squealing sound, but a number of those issues can indicate something that should require the immediate attention of an auto mechanic. For example, brakes have sensors in them and they will start to make a squealing sound then the brake pads start to get worn. Therefore, when the brakes start to squeal, it's time for them to be replaced. Also, a belt can start to make a squealing sound when it is getting worn out or about ready to break. The belt can run all types of important things in the car and the serpentine belt is especially important. Therefore, a squealing belt should also be looked at immediately.

2: Look for smoke

While it may not always be true that where there's smoke there's fire, at least in the case of car shopping. It is generally true that smoke generally does spell out trouble. There can be a lot of different reasons why you may be smelling smoke coming from the car and most of the reasons aren't good. In fact, the only really acceptable reason you can consider ignoring it is after the seller has put oil in the car and some got on the motor. It will naturally cause smoking until the oil has burned off of the motor.

3: Look for electronic issues

You want to keep an eye out for possible electronic issues, especially in the newer model cars that tend to have a lot more electrical features. If you notice any of the electric features don't work exactly as they should, then you may want to have this looked into before buying the car. A problem with an electric window not wanting to roll down can simply be a loose wire, or the issue can be much larger. This is the same for just about all of the electric components in the car you are checking out.
